The Welcome Garden: Helping New Neighbors While Caring For the Land,  Saturday, December 7th, 11:15 AM, Room 303

Anne Hardin is a retired nurse, hobby farmer, mother, and grandmother. She and her husband have lived on land near Goodlettsville for over 30 years. Over the last 4 plus decades, they have been passionate about social justice ministries, including work within prison ministry, racial, environmental, and immigration justice.

Inspired in 2020 by NFP’s Grow Together Garden, and with the help from friends at St Augustine’s Chapel, they began The Welcome Garden on their land and established nonprofit status in the spring of 2023. The board hired a regenerative farmer to help grow good organic produce to sell through a CSA. Proceeds go to pay the farmer, new immigrant workers and garden materials. Volunteers and new immigrant neighbors work together growing food and community at The Welcome Garden, now in its 2nd season.
